🗿 (moai) depicts one of the monolithic stone heads of Rapa Nui (Easter Island). It has been in the emoji set since the original Japanese carrier era, and for a decade it was mostly used literally or as a joke about being stone-faced. Then it became a reaction emoji. Today 🗿 means deadpan, unimpressed, bruh, said with a straight face, and it is a fixture of “sigma” and “chad” memes because of its chiselled, emotionless look.
