What the red circle emoji means
🔴 (red circle) means “live”, recording, a status dot, an alert, or simply red in a colour-coded list; 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣 ⚫ ⚪ 🟤 complete the set, and ⭕ (hollow red circle) is the Japanese “correct” mark (with ❌ for wrong). People use the dots as bullets, as traffic-light status (🔴🟡🟢) and as the “on air” light. The coloured circles arrived in Emoji 12.0; 🔴 🔵 are older.
